Paul Virts, Ph.D.
Dr. Virts helps ministries grow through his research and strategy insight. His keen eye for growing audiences and revenue for Christian ministries and nonprofits helps their vision become a reality.
Dr. Virts has a Ph.D. in speech communication from the University of Iowa, a master’s degree in communication from Wheaton College, Ill., an undergraduate degree in journalism/education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a diploma in Bible and Missions from Prairie Bible College.
He most recently joined DickersonBakker from the media group owned by University of Northwestern at St. Paul. While under his care, this network grew in audience, revenue and breadth.
Dr. Virts has a long career in helping ministries move forward. His Broadcasting expertise includes Director of Media for KMC Media, Director of Client Services/Manager of Corporate Research at Victor King Agency (Christian Broadcasting Network), and Assistant/Associate Professor of Broadcasting at Regent University.
He has also held positions in a variety of other Christian ministries and higher education institutes, including Executive VP/COO of Leading the Way Ministries, Senior Consultant for KMA & Associates, and Development Vice President for The Kings College.
Dr. Virts and his wife Viola met while attending Bible college in western Canada and have been married for 50 years. They have three adult children and eight grandchildren. Dr. Virts loves to write and is currently working on ministry-oriented manuscripts that he hopes to publish.
His major hobby is renovating the houses he and his wife have lived in. They and other family members have renovated bathrooms, built basement bedrooms and cabinets. He says building helps him see visible results of his work and gives him a sense of completing something. He also loves to read books, especially books on business, leadership and history. He and his wife live on a heavily wooded acreage, so there’s always plenty of outside work to do too.
